An electronic queue system is set to be implemented at the border with Kyrgyzstan.

The Ministry of Finance has prepared a draft of amendments to the Rules for the Passage of Motor Vehicles, Cargo, and Goods through the State Border of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including provisions for using a paid electronic queue system.

На границе с Кыргызстаном планируется внедрение электронной очереди.

The purpose of adopting the project is to expand the electronic queue system at the automotive checkpoints on the border with the Kyrgyz Republic, as stated in the explanatory note to the document.

The implementation of the electronic queue is planned at the following automotive checkpoints through the State Border of Kazakhstan with Kyrgyzstan:

  • Aisha-Bibi, Aukhatty, Karasu, Korday, Sartobe, and Syptai Batyr in the Zhambyl region;
  • Kegen in the Almaty region.

The project was developed in accordance with subparagraph 3) of paragraph 8 of the Protocol of the meeting on the issues of cargo delivery from the People's Republic of China, chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Alikhan Smailov, on March 13, 2023.

The Ministry of Finance asserts that the adoption of the document will not result in negative socio-economic, legal, or other consequences, nor will it affect national security.

The project is available on the "Open NPA" portal for public discussion until December 23, 2024.

Currently, the electronic queue system is already operational at the checkpoints on the State Border of Kazakhstan with China, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Russia.
